LED BY DR. ELLIE CANNON

Our Menopause Clinic is led by Dr Ellie Cannon, an NHS and Private GP with deep expertise in women’s health and menopause care. Her approach is known for being calm, balanced and evidence-led — helping women cut through the noise, understand their options clearly, and make confident decisions about their treatment.

Ellie places great importance on honesty and nuance. She supports the benefits of HRT but is equally committed to explaining its limitations without over-promising. Patients value her level-headed guidance, her ability to translate complex information into digestible terms, and the reassurance she provides during what can be a confusing stage of life.

Alongside her clinical work, Ellie is well recognised in the media for offering clear, trustworthy health advice. She writes the weekly Health column for The Mail on Sunday, appears regularly on BBC, ITV and LBC, and is known for her straightforward communication style.

Her recently published book on HRT reflects the same philosophy: practical, impartial and designed to empower women with sensible, reliable information.

A place where you feel understood

Menopause care designed around you

Menopause can be unsettling, especially when symptoms are wide-ranging or unpredictable. Many women feel overlooked or unheard before they arrive with us. We make it a priority to ensure you feel listened to, validated and supported by clinicians who understand what

OUR APPROACH

  • Compassionate Care

Our clinicians bring together extensive medical expertise with genuine warmth, empathy, and attentive listening. Your appointments provide the time and space to fully describe what you’re experiencing in a supportive, non-judgemental setting that truly honours your individual story.

  • Specialist guidance

No matter your medical history, there is support available. Our team includes menopause-specialist GPs experienced in caring for women with complex needs, including those with migraines, thyroid conditions, or a personal or family history of breast cancer.

  • Personalised Treatment

Every recommendation we make is informed by your medical history, lifestyle, and personal preferences. Drawing on our clinical experience and specialist expertise, we create treatment plans tailored to your specific symptoms, lifestyle goals, and overall health.

Your Menopause Consultation

Your care begins with a 40-minute consultation with one of our female GPs, starting at £240. During this appointment, we take time to understand your symptoms, medical history and priorities in detail. Your doctor will discuss both hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, carry out any relevant examinations, and explain whether further investigations, such as blood tests or imaging, may be useful.

First Consultation

Personalised Menopause Plan

After your consultation, many women find it helpful to have a structured support period as their treatment starts working. This typically includes a personalized 12-week plan that addresses symptoms, lifestyle, sleep, exercise, and nutrition. Your doctor will discuss how this plan might be tailored to your needs and how it can complement any medications or therapies you select.

Follow-Up Appointment

Your three month review

As part of our joined-up approach, we recommend a review at three months so that your doctor can assess how you’re responding, refine your treatment plan and offer further guidance and support. Many women find this check-in reassuring, particularly during the settling-in phase of HRT or when navigating changes in symptoms.

Continous Support

Support when you need it

Your menopause specialist GP is always available for future guidance and support whenever you need it. This includes providing repeat prescriptions, review appointments and annual HRT reviews. Our goal is to ensure you feel supported throughout your menopause journey.

Holistic Support to Complement Your Treatment

Menopause care designed around you

No two women experience menopause in the same way, and meaningful support must reflect that. Our clinic is built around understanding your symptoms, your priorities and what matters most to you.

  • Menopause Nutrition

Menopause can significantly impact appetite digestion metabolism and body weight. A dedicated dietitian can help you understand these changes and develop a sustainable personalised nutrition plan. During a dedicated appointment, our dietitian Sara Hausmann will work closely with you to provide tailored guidance considering your lifestyle symptoms and long-term health goals.

  • Testosterone Therapy

Testosterone plays an important role in women’s health, supporting energy, mood, cognitive function, muscle strength and sexual wellbeing. During perimenopause and menopause, some women develop symptoms of low testosterone, and targeted treatment can help. We offer testosterone therapy after a thorough clinical assessment, ensuring your hormonal care is coordinated and supervised by an experienced clinician.

  • Menopause Weight Management

Weight changes during menopause are common due to shifts in metabolism, hormones, and body composition.

Targeted weight-management support can help. For women needing extra support, GLP-1 treatments like Wegovy and Mounjaro may be an option within a supervised plan. Our clinicians can advise how these might fit into your menopause care if you’d like to explore them.

Blood Tests And Assessments

Additional Investigations

Depending on your symptoms, history and treatment plan, your menopause specialist GP may recommend further investigations to give a more complete picture of your health. These tests are not routinely included in a standard menopause consultation, but they can be arranged as part of your care if clinically appropriate.

  • HPV Cervical Screening

High-risk HPV testing helps assess your risk of cervical cell changes and is often used alongside routine cervical screening. It can be recommended if you are due a test or if your doctor feels it would support your overall assessment.

  • Mammogram or Breast Ultrasound

Imaging of the breasts may be advised if you are experiencing breast symptoms or require age-appropriate breast screening. Mammography and ultrasound offer complementary views and can help clarify any concerns.

  • Pelvic Transvaginal Ultrasound

These scans give detailed images of the uterus, ovaries and pelvic structures. Your doctor may suggest an ultrasound if you are experiencing irregular bleeding, pelvic symptoms or require reassurance regarding gynaecological health.

  • DEXA Bone Density Scan

A DEXA scan measures bone density and can be helpful in assessing osteoporosis risk, particularly during and after menopause. Your clinician may recommend this if you have risk factors for reduced bone strength.

  • CA-125

A tumour marker used to evaluate risk factors relating to ovarian cancer. It is not a diagnostic test on its own but may be recommended when symptoms or medical history warrant further assessment.
